The first home we purchased was quite scary to say the least. It had been vacant for a number of years and n0-one bothered to clean the fridge out when they left… so that was a special surprise. Over all the house had good “bones” as they say. The first stage of the remodel was the downstairs. This included the kitchen, dining, living room, 2 bedrooms and the first bathroom. We moved the wall in the kitchen to make the space more functional and installed all new cabinets. The bedroom closets where moved and the bathroom was extended. New flooring was needed throughout the whole house as well. While searching Craig’s List we found an old maple basketball court that we refinished for the living room, kitchen and hallway flours. It was gorgeous when when we applied the satin polyurithan. We then tackled the upstairs. We added built in bookshelves upstairs, painted and added a whole bedroom above the garage. I really loved this house when it was done. It felt bright and welcoming the minute you walked in. Plus it had a great clawfoot tub in the upstairs bath, I am still not sure how Cole got it up there.
