History: Cole and I met while working at a Summer Camp in Upstate NY. Cole was the onsite carpenter, while I did marketing for Pok-O-MacCready Camps. Not long after we met Cole applied for a position within the program Teach For America, and before we knew it we were moving across the country to Tulsa, Oklahoma. I worked as a graphic designer during our 5 years in Tulsa. Cole was a preschool teacher for 2 years with Teach for America, and then worked for the Non-Profit New Hope. During those first years we were always busy with projects and Cole would use his previous experience as a carpenter to help out friends with their renovations.

While working for New Hope, Cole started Sawteeth Carpentry LLC and we started to think about buying our first place. We always ended up fixing the places we rented so we decided we should be doing those fixes to a place we actually owned. We bought our first place with about $2,000 in the bank for the repairs. We may have been just a little bit crazy. But we made it work, during our first renovation we both had full time jobs, so it left us with nights and weekends to work on the house.

When we sold our first home, and bought the Broken Arrow house Cole transitioned to working solely on the house. During the sale of our Broken Arrow property we decided that we had been away from NY for long enough. We sold the contents of our house with the sale and packed up the dogs and made the move back to NY. We love being closer to family and living in the Adirondacks.

Free Time: Although we may spend 98% of our time thinking about the house we do have other things we love. Cole has a love for running and hiking, he recently completed the 46 High Peaks in the Adirondacks. I enjoy painting, photography, and board games. We both love the ocean, mini golf and our two dogs – Mrs. Piggy and Ziva. We spent a good deal of time volunteering at the SPCA in Tulsa and adopted Ziva through the SPCA. We found our sweet Piggy on the side of the road in Tulsa.

I also run Julia Rebecca Photography (www.juliarebeccaphotos.com) based in Essex NY and manage the Crux Rock Climbing Facility in Willsboro, NY.

We stay busy with our projects but try to balance that with making sure we leave time to enjoy life and spend time with our family and friends. Please feel free to leave comments and questions we would love to hear from you.
