Zen of Nail Pulling

“If you are going to achieve excellence in big things, you develop the habit in little matters. Excellence is not an exception, it is a prevailing attitude.” – Colin Powell –

I think when we go through these houses you have to somewhat enjoy the mundane and unexciting things. Pulling nails is one of those tasks… I think I have it down to a bit of a science at this point. One of our good friends stopped by the house the other day and commented about the shear amount of materials we have to deal with on a daily basis. For Cole the task of just dealing with materials is a job in its’ self.  I can contribute in a small way by helping those piles be easier to deal with by taking the nails out.

We were able to salvage a lot of the wood from the walls and floors we removed. It is crazy to think that some of the boards and nails are 100 years old. We are really excited about being able to reuse the wood. One of the floor boards was over 15″ wide.

Ps. There is something that doesn’t belong in that left photo….
